THE PRIME ELEMENT - Alborada (Kindred Spirits) NEW! Another very smart release by KS, with the super obscure first recording by Argentinian soundtrack composer Carlos Franzetti, under the pseudonym of The Prime Element. This ambitious piece of music perfectly melt what we love here: jazz dance, female scat and cinematic mood, for a result that strongly reminds the best album from another famous expatriate: Janco Nilovic and his sublime Rythmes Contemporains! |

GARY MARKS - Gathering (Kindred Spirits) NEW! Beautiful reissue by the young dutch label from Amsterdam. This Gary Marks LP is an astounding mix of songwriting, poetry and jazz that will pleased not only the basic crate digger but also the simple music lover. With a cast of jazzmen at their prime (John Scofield, David Samuels..) and a delicate sense of melody, just imagine the impossible reunion between Nick Drake and Stark Reality.. |
| EDEN ROSE - Faster And Faster / Feeling In The Living (Sausage Records) The first release for this young french label, specialized in 7inch, made by DJs for DJ using: it means loud and good press, no bootleg bulls*** package for this Eden Rose double sider. Two tracks, one taken from the Bside of the official single release, the other one taken from the ultra scarce LP of the band, On The Way To Eden. Two brillant up-tempo hammond groover made for the dancefloor. |

BRUNO SPOERRI - Glücks Kugel (Finders Keepers) Another deep dig by the ace team at www.finderskeepersrecords.com, who managed to meet Bruno Spoerri, a mad swiss scientist of sound who did several insane electro cuts during the seventies, mostly for commercials. Some true avant garde techno tracks, some beaty jerk with machine sounds... the direct swiss respons to Cecil Leuter or Igor Wakhevitch! |
| DJ MURO / KON & AMIR - Kings Of Diggin' (BBE) What's the deal when BBE organises a meeting that looks like digging heavyweight championship? Two hours of groove rarities expertly mixed. On a more mellow mid tempo style for Kon&Amir (special mention to the fine edits by Kon), really dancefloor oriented for Muro, with an avalanche of up-tempo breaky tunes that will humiliate any little-dude diggers out there! |

CORTEX - Inedit '79 (Underdog) Finally! After several shameless bootlegs and minimal work reissues, the extraordinary Cortex band and members got the fine release they deserves. Under the quality control of Alain Mion and Alain Gandolfi (Piano & Drums respectively), we go deeper in the Cortex catalogue with some unreleased materials circa 1979. Gandolfi (who's also a very famous sound engineer) remixed the tracks so you can fully benefit from the superb sound arrangements. Many vocals cuts and flying rhodes keys that sounds like a french version of Roy Ayers and Ubiquity, with that very special touch. You need it if you dig the Cortex sound. |
