V/A ARTISTS – Patchwork 16 / Music Shop (Patchwork)
A real personnal discovery, surely one of the most unknown and best Patchwork release. Killer pop jazz action and subtle works on keyboards with the breakbeat fueled "Blue Jeans Danse", "Alabama Beat", "L'Amour Et L'Enfer", "Mixture 625", "Chant Pour Un Aventurier", "Quand Tu Me Reviendras", "Pour Quelques Dollars de Moins"...
JC DEBLAIS – Patchwork 35 / Le Miroir Du Fantastique (Patchwork)
Yes! Surely one of the strangest, oddest and cultest release on the patchwork catalogue. JC Deblais provide here the perfect soundtrack for a Zombie movie, or one of these Jean Rollin lesbian vampires flick! Ambient electro-acoustic themes, and glauquous mood all the way through. Check "Nevroville" or "Appel des Mutants".
Another finest from Patchwork. Killer progressive sound with round menacing bassline, minimal percussions and deadly waves of synth. With the insane "Electron", the best track from the label?? Water damages on cover.
TEDDY LASRY – Patchwork 44 / Modern Way (Patchwork)
Teddy Lasry in top form here. One side with avant garde techno, the other with some tough progressive pop, sounding a lot like Placebo sometimes. Some surface noises. Water damages on cover.
Killer Nardini/Roger release with the insane loop that is "Rhythm Punch". Damn... I would really hear what Jay Dilla would do with that massive electro syncopated beat! With also "News Power", "Bargain Hunting", "Moving Forward", "Piano Evocation" and "Air Waves".
Rare Roger Roger LP with the monster track "Rugbymen" and its orgy of breakbeat drums. One of the most insane (but quiet unknown) Roger Roger track. With also the fine jazz cuts "Basket Jumpers", "Medaille Olympique", the dope spy jazz "Sports Et Plein Air" or the bongo and percussions feist of "Jeu D'Enfer". Stock copy!
Killer album! By far the best and most consistent Pierre Porte album. Superb orchestral pop in the same veine as JC Vannier or Eddie Warner. Solid from start to finish with the highlight "Fantasia Pop", an insane tune with super phat phasing breakbeats and fuzz a la Nilovic. Stock copy!
One of my favourite Mondiophone release! Killer after killer scat groove in the very same level as best Nilovic works. It begins hard with the ultra catchy "Wall Paper Music". With also the deadly compressed piano loop of "Mangalpur", "Commodore", "Malijoci", "Balleroy", "Kirman", "Lascaris" and the dark mood of "Fontmagne". Stock copy!
One of the best lib I've ever heard if you're after uptempo dancefloor beats! Immense amount of short cues and 15 seconds tracks that will just fill your sampler for monthes: killer electro blips, bongo breaks and more with that rougly way of production in the Studio Ganaro. Listen to the extract and be shocked.
