Considered by many (including me!) as the best LP by Marc Moulin / Placebo, this second album totally justifies the hype over it. From the first track to the last, this is nothing but fantastic melodies, incredible drums patterns, subtle horns arrangement...and of course the genius play of Marc Moulin on keyboards. No jazz band from europ ever reach that level of... CLICK TO READ MORE
Monster German jazz funk! The second album from the cult KLAUS WEISS and Udo Lindenberg band. Deadly session of groovy jazz from start to finish, with a HUGE accent on percussions. Needless to quote tracks here, the whole LP is a slaugthery! Essential in any euro jazz collection.
Great Dutch jazz funk plenty of breaks and grooves. Listen to "Streetrondo", "Blue Windmill", or the very Placebo-esque "Peacemaker"
Georgian band mixing vocal ensemble and pop arrangement. One very nice organ pop track and a huge BREAK on another.
Killer jazz funk LP featuring Bruno Castellucci (PLACEBO) on drums. Check the intro break on "One For You". This is the rarer Belgian press on RKM.
Nice production on this LP, with lot of sampling opportunities. And the cover art is a must!
With the cool open drum break of "Apocalypse".
Great disco funk jerk from France. With the laid back open break of "Night Is Blues", and the sleazy "Lady Penelope".
Good, French private contemporary big band jazz, with the open drum breaks and groove of "Stance".
Cool organ pop a la Dany Maurice. Check the groovy cut "Yes Tonight" and the nice loop on the intro of "A Special World".
Another almost unknown, barely googleable Anatolian production, with insane loops for your sampler. Crazy moogy disco with analogic beat, deviant cheap keyboard melodies, hip hop loops galore...Unique stuff!
Super rare Bollywood soundtrack, totally under the radar for now! Too many killer cuts and sampleable moments on this one, ranging from moogy proto disco to strings and beats in a typical Bolly way. Stock copy condition (can you believe that from an Indian record??) Just listen the soundclip...and don't hesitate too much!
Very cinematic, cop show sound. Listen to the loop friendly "Un Soir De Banco" and the chase-like track "La Caravane Rouge".
Jewish folk LP with pop arrangement! With the killer tune "Beat", starting with a phat open drum breaks, and going on in a funky way with groovy hammond sound and that catchy Klezmer feeling on it. Very hard to find!
Impossible to find and ungoogleable Armenian production. The Armenian folklore is mixed here with some pop music arrangement. Definitly super cheesy but you know how it is, the magic of the loops appears in the most unusual place: you have at least two demented Madlib-esque loops if used by a skilled producer. The folk jerk have a sort of catchy feeling in it too,... CLICK TO READ MORE
Obscure Armenian LP recorded in USA, with insane production, providing for sure a lot of sampling opportunities. With breaks and Armenian guitar loops sounding a lot like your best Turkish drama stabs. Listen to the extract, this is not your casual dollar bin find. Ungoogleable and impossible to find on the web.
Japanese band. Check the great funky rock version of "Superstition", with a good open drum break intro, and another good one of "Cisco Kid". Comes with the insert.
Great compilation of classic TV cop show themes (Shaft, Kojak...). With astounding versions of "Quiller" (with huge breaks intro) and "Starsky And Hutch".
Nice flute-led LP sounding like a library: check the psych pop "Lei Lelele Palace" with good breaks.
Super obscure library led by Jacky Bernard, the keyboard player on the cult Creole Gypsy LP by ROLAND BRIVAL. No spiritual west indies poetry here, Jacky Bernard delivers an insane collection of synth tracks with subtle Caraibean influences, phat synth layers, broken beats and strange hypnotic melodies, that sometimes make you think of a west indies version of Jungle...
